How to Play Neighbours
Objective
Score the most points by creating groups of matching numbers in rows and columns.
Gameplay
- Roll the Dice: Click "Roll Dice" to roll two dice and get a number (2-12)
- Place Your Number: Click any empty cell on your board to place the rolled number
- End Turn: Click "End Turn" to complete your placement
- Computer Plays: In vs Computer mode, the computer will automatically place its number
- Repeat: Continue until both players' boards are full
Scoring
You earn points for groups of 2 or more matching numbers:
- Group of 2: (number) × 2
- Group of 3: (number) × 3
- Example: Three 5s in a row = 5 × 3 = 15 points
Bonus: Groups count in both horizontal AND vertical directions!
Controls
- Roll Dice: Generate your next number
- Undo: Undo your last placement
- End Turn: Finish placing and pass to opponent
- Quit: Exit game and return to mode selection
Tips
- Plan ahead - think about where numbers will match in rows and columns
- Rare numbers (1, 2, 11, 12) are valuable - place them strategically
- Groups can span across multiple cells for bigger scores
- In Computer mode, the AI makes smart placement decisions
